Bar
& restaurant
Inside, the pub is non-smoking throughout
and has a welcoming bar with a selection of hand pulled
real ales and two separate dining rooms.
Although customers come from far
and wide to enjoy our great pub food, we are a "real
pub", not a restaurant and drinkers are especially
welcome. We are all real ale enthusiasts and we always
have three well-kept real ales on tap. Hook Norton Hooky
Bitter is a regular feature and we carry an ever changing
selection of guest ales.
All guest ales are subject to the
discriminating tastebuds of our regulars who help us
to decide which beers to bring back in the future. Amongst
our recent favourites are:
- Adnams "Broadside"
- Otter Brewery's "Otter Best"
- Wye Valley Brewery "Dorothy Goodbody's Golden
Ale"
- Sharp's "Doom Bar"
- Timothy Taylors "Landlord"
- Fullers "London Pride"

Food & drink
Our restaurant is famous for
its fresh, locally sourced home made dishes with a large
number of fish and vegetarian specialities. As well
as our main menu of great pub food we have an ever changing
blackboard of specials, usually made with fresh locally
grown and reared produce.
In summer
barbeques are often held outside in the garden.
Children
Families with children are especially
welcome at The Butchers Arms. We are happy to serve
half portions from our main menu and we also have a
selection of children's favourites for the more conservative
junior diner. Just ask for our children's menu.
Wines
We have tasted dozens of different
wines (dirty work but somebody's got to do it!) to create
our interesting and eclectic wine list which combines
the best of the Old and New Worlds. Many of our wines
are supplied by long established specialist wine merchants
Tanners of Shrewsbury. We also stock a small selection
of white wines from the nearby Strawberry Hill Vineyard.
Beer and Cider
We
are all passionate about our beer and The Butchers Arms
holds the coveted "Cask Marque" award for
the quality of our cask conditioned ale. We always have
three classic real ales usually sourced direct from
the brewery.Our
draught cider is Stowford Press from family owned cider
producers Westons of Much Marcle.
